The BMW K75 was introduced in 1985 as a lighter, three-cylinder companion to the four-cylinder K100, which launched in 1983. It featured a 740cc inline-three engine - often referred to as a "flying brick" due to its compact, horizontally mounted layout. This engine produced around 75 hp, delivering smooth and reliable performance with less vibration than its four-cylinder sibling, thanks in part to a unique balance shaft.
The K75 was known for its excellent build quality, low maintenance shaft drive, and modular design, which allowed for various configurations including the K75, K75C, K75S (sportier version), and K75RT (touring version with full fairing). It was praised for its refined ride, fuel efficiency, and long-distance comfort.
Production of the K75 continued until 1995, and the model has since earned a loyal following. Today, it’s appreciated as a practical and reliable classic that combines 1980s innovation with timeless BMW engineering.
The model we offer here is in good condition. It recently had a new clutch and gear box fitted and comes with top case and original BMW wind shield.
