A few years after the introduction of the R90/6 and the "luxury" Daytona Orange and TT Silver Smoke R90S, the capacity of BMW's boxer engine was increased to 980cc for the new R100/7 series. The showpiece of this new line was the R100RS "superbike" with full fairing. Although the R100RS was designed as a super sports machine, it was more like a sports tour bike. Something that was of course not a disadvantage for BMW's traditional market. To design and perfect the fairing, BMW used wind tunnel technology - which would eventually become the new standard - both at the Technical University of Stuttgart and in the Pininfarina's Tunnel in Italy.

This R100RS has a special gold color and was acquired from a collector in Switzerland. Considering its age, it has relatively few kilometers on the odometer. Furthermore, this BMW is completely original.
